For some, belief comes easy. Others however – much like who I was at the start of my walk with God – require a booster of tangible evidence to jump start their walk down the path of righteousness. For those who lie somewhere in between, comfort can be found in the clear declaration of design seen across our universe.
Yes, friend, this creation is not random and chaotic, but rather exhibits countless demonstrations of calculated design, and this is a matter you too will come to appreciate. Though mainstream proponents may attempt to justify everything through the gritty lens of naturalism (a worldview in which all supernatural elements are excluded, relying strictly upon natural, observable processes to explain the features of our universe), what we find under observation is in fact the antithesis.
The laws of nature do not preclude God; they require Him. The theories of men do not nullify His presence; rather they excise Him from their work. His omission from their interpretations however does not negate His existence in reality, nor does it diminish His role in the operations of that reality.
No matter how far they run from the obvious, no matter how many layers of theory and postulation they present, ultimately everything requires a starting point, a moment of origin and creation. Our own laws of physics demand this, and the pursuit of an origin free from divinity is one that simply evades the necessary issues. Only a transcendent intelligence could have produced what we observe in the universe around us, not only in the strictly observable but even within the multitude of invisible and intangible criteria that keep it all functioning. Even the work of mainstream opponents of belief testify passively to this.¹
What’s more, understanding that a Creator is indeed responsible, we find that only the God of the Bible fits with those characteristics we observe across the expanse. ²
You don’t have to be a believer to recognize the obvious either. One of the world’s leading physicists, David Berlinski, Ph.D., a man not afraid to declare his agnosticism, responded to the preeminent atheist of our time, Richard Dawkins, saying:
“Has anyone provided proof of God’s inexistence? Not even close. Has quantum cosmology explained the emergence of the universe or why it is here? Not even close. Have our sciences explained why our universe seems to be fine-tuned to allow for the existence of life? Not even close. Are physicists and biologists willing to believe in anything so long as it is not religious thought? Close enough. Has rationalism and moral thought provided us with an understanding of what is good, what is right, and what is moral? Not close enough. Has secularism in the terrible 20th century been a force for good? Not even close, to being close. Is there a narrow and oppressive orthodoxy in the sciences? Close enough. Does anything in the sciences or their philosophy justify the claim that religious belief is irrational? Not even in the ballpark. Is scientific atheism a frivolous exercise in intellectual contempt? Dead on.”³
Unafraid of the contemptuous glances of the mainstream, even an unbeliever can recognize the obvious! Real research based on real science, real testing, and real observation all confirm decisively that this reality within which we exist is something more than the product of random coincidence. We are not the outworkings of chaos and confusion, but of a mind, the works of an intelligence that transcends the limitations of the natural world. We all are the handiwork if a creator, the Creator, God.

All of this design, all of this evidence of Creator, every bit of it should come as no surprise to those who trust in the Bible and it’s first book, Genesis.
