Waiting on the Bridegroom, Part 6

We have a beautiful promise given to us in John Chapter 14. There Jesus tells us this:

In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.

I love this little passage for a number of reasons, but I want to tell you something that awes me about it:

Think about the world around us…

Take away all the hate and the crime and the violence and the sin, and just think about the beauty of this creation.

Think of all the amazing landscapes and the beautiful night sky full endless star.

Think about the amazing forests and the high mountains, the crystal clear lakes and majestic oceans

All of it…

He did all that in six days. Six. Simple. Days. (If you have any doubt about that, read His own words on the matter in Exodus 20:11)

As beautiful as it all is, He made all that in six days.

He left us some two-thousand years ago now, and He has been preparing a place for us ever since. Think about that!

Doesn’t that just boggle the mind!?

He’s been gone for two millennia now, but He’s coming back for us…

Friends, the Lord said He’s coming back, and if we can take Him at His word on so many other things, by golly we need to take Him at His Word on this too!

The real question, you see, is when is He coming back?

“Waiting on the Bridegroom” returns next time…
