Waiting on the Bridegroom, Part 12

Coming to the end now, look at what happens next, verses 11 & 12:

“Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.”

Can you imagine the ANGUISH of the foolish virgins? Can you imagine the fear and dread of those left out of the marriage? Can you imagine how you would feel?

Are you missing your shot at being there today?

“I don’t know you! It’s too late! You had your shot, you had your commands, you had just as much opportunity as the others! Now go! Depart from me!”

I can’t imagine what it would be like to stand in the dark and look at that shut door, knowing it will never open for me to enter…

With that in mind, Christ gave us the last verse of this parable. Verse 13:

“Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.”

Watch, because you know neither the day nor the hour when the Son of Man, when Christ Himself, will return.

Be ready!

Carry your oil with you and let it fuel you lamp your shining against the darkness, both for yourself and for others.

“Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near: So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors.” – Mark 13:28‭-‬29 –

Be ready for the season. You don’t know the day or hour, but recognize the season, and be ready for the bridegroom, because – though He tarries – He will be right on time…

Romans chapter 13 (11-14) tells us “And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

Be ready, friends. A great and magnificent wedding is coming and you most certainly want to be present! The groom has gone to prepare a place for the bride, and what a wonderful place it will be…

Sooner or later – once the fullness of the Church has come into its own, and the number of the elect has been fulfilled – the Father will say to the Son, “Go get her,” and in that instance – as the shout goes forth with the coming of the bridegroom for His bride, everything will change, in the twinkling of an eye…

If you have waited until that moment to get yourself together, you have failed, you have missed your open opportunity, and you will find the door shut before you…

Think about your life today, friends. Its awful dark out in that world as we wait on Him today. Are you shining a light into it? Are you standing there with enough oil or will you be rushing out at the last moment only to hear that it’s too late?

Are you sitting on “E” saying, “I think I can make it?”

In the closing words of Revelation, Christ tells us this:

“He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.”

Are you ready for the marriage of the Bride and the Bridegroom?
