Delving into some of the most important – albeit most controversial – questions of all time, this 5-star Award winning book examines the Biblical and scientific arguments on the origins of the world, the nature of reality, and the concept of time. “Remnants of Eden: Evolution, Deep-Time, & the Antediluvian World” offers a fresh, artistic, and well-researched perspective on the seemingly futile arguments that have baffled intellectuals, scientists and philosophers for millennia. In late 2012, I set out to write a book that told my story of coming to Christianity from atheism, and with it, documenting all the science, history, and philosophical insights that contributed to my newfound faith. As of July 23rd, this year, that book (Remnants of Eden: Evolution, Deep-Time, & the Antediluvian World) – and a sister volume (The Official Art of Remnants of Eden) – were published, and they are both available now in print and digital, both here on FOUNDRY4 and at other retailers, such as Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and more.
I suppose that, stepping right off into it, we should first address when the angels were created. It may surprise you to know that they are in fact created beings, just like us, that were made by God at some point for His purposes. After speaking with a number of people on this matter, I was astonished to find how many actually believed (perhaps having never really considered the matter much at all in the first place) that Angels, like God, were eternal and have always existed! While it is true that those angels which now exist will indeed exist forever, just as our own souls shall, the fact that they had an actual point of creation should not be overlooked.

Believers should understand the absolute criticality of obeying the Lord. They should heed His word and follow His instructions and commands. Sadly though, we all tend to lose sight of that reality from time to time. True, He is a loving God. He is a merciful Father, full of compassion and grace. Even so, forgiveness is not always without repercussions, and like a good earthly father, sometimes and act of disciple is needed to set our eyes back where they belong, a whipping, so to speak, to remind us later of our misdeeds, and perhaps to keep us on the straight and narrow. This is just what Joshua and his people faced in the time after Jericho…

What do we know about history? Walter Benjamin said “History is written by the victors,” and it is certainly true, especially the further back we go. You see, while the Bible gives us a clear picture of how things happened, in many cases there are critics who offer differing account, and by and large these differing accounts have over the centuries become what is taught as truth. While I could write at length about these kinds of discrepancies, I want to address a single, last point before finally closing out this abridged study of the flood.

Interestingly, even human bodies seem to indicates that the flood account of the Genesis is true.

Concerning the flood itself, the Bible makes it very clear that it was global in nature, saying in Genesis 7:19-20 that “the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered” by 15 cubits or 22.5 feet of water. This was not some local breaking of a dam, as some scholars have insisted over the years. No, this was an utterly unprecedented flood on a massive scale, whereby the waters covered entire surface of the globe. Furthermore, looking to other areas of technical investigation, we find that everything from radiometric dating discrepancies, ice core sampling, and even dendrochronology seem to indicate that some massive and unique event took place approximately 4,300 years ago.

To start our exploration of the flood, we must wonder why God sent that global baptism. Well, immediately we see how Genesis 6 begins with a highly unusual set of verses:
And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose…There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. – Genesis 6:1-2,4
Who were these “Sons of God?”

This week it is with great enthusiasm that I begin a series about one of the most famous of all Biblical accounts, and a personal favorite of mine: The Flood of Noah. What do you think about this flood? Do you believe the Biblical account, that there was actually a global flood in the year 2,348 BC that utterly inundated the planet, killing all terrestrial life that wasn’t aboard the ark? If you do take the Bible seriously, accepting its claims to this end, then I extend to you a question? What do you know about it, about the ark and flood and the details thereof? Why did God send the flood? How Big was the ark? How many animals were aboard? How long was their stay on the ark? Is there any real evidence for the flood? The answer may surprise you…
Much of our scriptural understanding of Noah, the Ark, and the flood comes to us from Genesis Chapters 6-10, and within those many verses comes an amazing tale of dedication, adventure, and drama, and behind it lies an utter wealth of amazing insights and technical justification. Keep watching because over the next few weeks we will explore these questions and more!
